I recently had a Deep Tissue Thai massage with Maliwan, and it was truly exceptional. This is my third visit so thought I should write a review. From the moment the session began, she created a calming, welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Her technique is outstanding- precise and incredibly intuitive. She knew exactly where to apply pressure and how to release tension without ever causing discomfort. What stood out most was her professionalism combined with genuine warmth. Every stretch and movement felt purposeful, and I walked out feeling lighter, more flexible, and completely refreshed. It was easily one of the best massages I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for an authentic, deeply restorative Thai massage, I highly recommend booking with Maliwan. She is truly gifted at what she does.
Thai Massage in Partick, Glasgow
Professional Thai massage for Partick, Thornwood and Dumbarton Road residents
Glasgow Thai Massage serves the Partick community from our city centre studio on Cambridge Street, just a few stops away on Glasgow's Subway. Partick — with its buzzing Dumbarton Road, excellent transport links, and tight-knit community — is one of Glasgow's most characterful neighbourhoods, and its residents deserve access to genuine, professional Thai massage therapy.
Partick's residents include a diverse mix of young professionals, families, students, and long-established community members. Whether you work in Partick, commute through it on your way across the city, or call Thornwood or Broomhill home, our Cambridge Street studio is genuinely convenient — Partick subway station is served by both the Inner and Outer Circle, and Partick train station connects directly into the city centre.
The journey from Partick to our studio takes just minutes. From Partick subway station, ride two stops clockwise to Cowcaddens — you'll be at our door in under 10 minutes door to door. Alternatively, frequent bus services along Dumbarton Road and Argyle Street connect Partick directly to the city centre throughout the day and evening.
Partick's active community — cyclists commuting along the Clyde, dog walkers on the riverside paths, gym-goers at the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena — understands the value of physical maintenance and recovery. Thai massage is the ideal complement to an active lifestyle: it addresses the deep muscle tension and restricted mobility that exercise and daily movement create, restoring balance and preventing injury.
Many Partick clients combine their massage appointments with city centre visits — shopping on Buchanan Street, dining in the Merchant City, or catching a show at the Theatre Royal. Our evening and weekend slots accommodate the lifestyle of this well-connected neighbourhood perfectly. Once discovered, most Partick clients make Glasgow Thai Massage a regular part of their wellness routine.

Yes — via the subway, you're just two stops and under 10 minutes from our clinic door to door. Take any train from Partick station on the Outer Circle (clockwise direction) to Cowcaddens station, which is served by regular subway services throughout the day. From Cowcaddens, we're a 2-minute walk along Cambridge Street. The subway is the quickest route; for those driving, the Cambridge Street car park is convenient and well-priced.
Thai massage is a 2,500-year-old healing system from Thailand that combines acupressure, passive stretching, and energy line work into one comprehensive treatment. It's effective because it addresses the body holistically — not just surface muscle tension, but deep connective tissue, joint mobility, circulation, and the nervous system's stress response. Unlike Swedish massage, you remain clothed throughout and the therapist works with your body through movement rather than simply applying pressure. The result is deeper, longer-lasting relief than most Western massage styles achieve, along with improved flexibility that clients often describe as transformative.
We offer eight professional massage treatments: Traditional Thai Massage — the authentic floor-based experience with stretching and acupressure; Thai Oil Massage — Thai techniques with nourishing oils applied to the skin; Deep Tissue Massage — intensive work on chronic muscle tension and knots; Aromatherapy Massage — deeply relaxing treatment with therapeutic essential oils; Thai Foot Reflexology — pressure point therapy for feet, ankles and lower legs; Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage — focused 30-minute treatment for desk and commute tension; Sports Massage — designed for athletic recovery and performance; Pregnancy Massage — safe, supportive prenatal treatment from the second trimester onwards.
Thai massage is outstanding for active people. Partick's cycling commuters, Kelvin Hall gym regulars, and weekend runners all benefit from Thai massage's ability to address the specific tension patterns that exercise creates: tight hip flexors from cycling, hamstring restriction from running, shoulder tightness from swimming, lower back compression from heavy lifting. The assisted stretching component of Thai massage goes beyond what most people achieve in their own stretching routine, improving range of motion and preventing the chronic tightness that leads to injury. Many athletes treat Thai massage as essential recovery, not optional luxury.
For traditional Thai massage, wear comfortable loose clothing — tracksuit bottoms, joggers, yoga pants, or loose shorts with a t-shirt. The treatment involves assisted stretching so anything restrictive is uncomfortable. If you're cycling in from Partick, bring a change of clothes — we have changing facilities. For oil-based treatments like aromatherapy or Thai oil massage, you'll be professionally draped with towels throughout for complete privacy and comfort.
We offer excellent value for professional Thai massage — competitive with anything you'll find in the West End or Partick area. Prices vary by treatment type and duration (30 to 90 minutes available). Our full treatment menu includes Traditional Thai, Oil, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Foot Reflexology, Back-Neck-Shoulder, Sports, and Pregnancy Massage. Please visit our website or call us for the current price list. We offer package discounts for regular clients and run occasional seasonal promotions.
Yes — we recommend booking ahead, especially for evening and weekend slots which fill quickly with West End and Partick clients. Booking online or by phone takes 2 minutes and guarantees your preferred time. That said, we do accommodate same-day bookings when availability allows — call us to check. For first-time clients, booking a couple of days in advance is ideal as we allow extra time for an initial health consultation before your first treatment.
Definitely. Regular commuting by train, bus, or bike creates a predictable set of tension patterns: rounded shoulders from standing on packed trains, lower back stiffness from sitting, neck tension from looking at phones, and hip tightness from cycling. Our therapists are experienced at addressing commuter-specific tension patterns through a combination of targeted pressure work and assisted stretching. Many Partick commuters book a Thursday or Friday evening session to unwind after the working week — they arrive tense and leave transformed, ready to enjoy the weekend properly.
Yes, gift vouchers are available for all our treatments. They make a thoughtful, practical present for partners, parents, friends, and colleagues — the kind of gift people genuinely appreciate rather than something that sits unused. Vouchers can be for specific treatments or monetary values. They're delivered digitally or collected in person. Contact us to purchase — a great gift for the Partick person in your life who deserves to unwind.

I had a Thai massage here recently and the experience was a mix of positives and challenges. The massage room was spacious, ambient, and very comfortable, especially the massage table. The masseuse was friendly, attentive, and clearly skilled. The massage itself was mostly relaxing, but at times the pressure was stronger than I could comfortably handle. I was reassured it was “good pain” due to the tightness in my shoulders and back, but I did end up with bruises on my arms and back and felt very sore for a couple of days, which affected my sleep. On the positive side, a few days later I noticed that I felt lighter and less tense, which shows the massage did release a lot of tightness. I would recommend this place for those who like deep, strong pressure massages, but if you prefer something gentler, I suggest making this clear to the masseuse at the start.
A beautiful experience — highly recommended I had the pleasure of booking a Thai massage in Glasgow today and it was a truly beautiful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease. The team was very friendly, incredibly professional, and delivered excellent work throughout my visit. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and I could tell that great care was taken in every detail. It’s clear that the ladies working here are passionate about what they do, and I’m so grateful for the hard work they put in. This is definitely a place I’d love to return to — and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you again!
Fantastic place. Staff are very knowledgeable, attentive and skilled. I had some tightness in my back and hip which they noticed right away and went a long way to easing. The staff were also careful around my knee and elbow which had some sporting injuries. The rooms are serene with light music and subdued lighting. The hot oil treatment is very soothing. I look forward to returning. Many thanks
