I recently had a Deep Tissue Thai massage with Maliwan, and it was truly exceptional. This is my third visit so thought I should write a review. From the moment the session began, she created a calming, welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Her technique is outstanding- precise and incredibly intuitive. She knew exactly where to apply pressure and how to release tension without ever causing discomfort. What stood out most was her professionalism combined with genuine warmth. Every stretch and movement felt purposeful, and I walked out feeling lighter, more flexible, and completely refreshed. It was easily one of the best massages I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for an authentic, deeply restorative Thai massage, I highly recommend booking with Maliwan. She is truly gifted at what she does.
Thai Oil Massage
The flowing warmth of Swedish strokes, guided by 2,500 years of Thai wisdom.
Thai Oil Massage blends the long, gliding effleurage strokes of Swedish massage with the targeted pressure-point work of traditional Thai therapy. Warmed therapeutic oils are worked into the skin to soften tissue, ease joint stiffness, and encourage the deep relaxation that Thai bodywork is known for. Every session is tailored to your areas of concern — whether you carry tension across your shoulders, soreness through your lower back, or simply need a full-body reset, Maliwan adapts the technique to give you exactly what you need.
Key Benefits
- Deeply relaxes overworked muscles and reduces overall body tension
- Improves circulation and lymphatic drainage throughout the full body
- Nourishes and conditions the skin with warmed therapeutic oils
- Eases joint stiffness and restricted range of movement
- Calms the nervous system and promotes a restful night's sleep
- Relieves tension headaches and neck pain from desk work
- Combines the best of Swedish flow with Thai acupressure depth
What to Expect
You will undress to your comfort level and lie on the treatment table; Maliwan leaves the room while you settle and you are fully draped with towels throughout. She begins with long, slow strokes across the back to warm the tissue, then moves into thumb-pressure work along the Thai Sen energy lines before returning to flowing strokes to integrate and calm each area. The session finishes with neck, scalp, and face work. 60 or 90 minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
We use a blend of light therapeutic base oils — sweet almond is our standard. If you have a nut allergy we switch to fractionated coconut oil at no extra cost. Please mention any allergies when booking.
The oils we use are light and absorb well. You will have a pleasant warmth but won't feel greasy. We recommend waiting a little before showering so the oils can continue working.
The strokes will feel familiar, but Maliwan layers in acupressure on specific Thai energy points that a pure Swedish session wouldn't include — producing both the surface relaxation of oil work and the deeper therapeutic release of traditional Thai technique.
A 60-minute session covers the full body at a relaxed pace and is ideal for most first visits. If you carry tension in multiple areas — for example, both the lower back and the shoulders — the 90-minute option gives Maliwan more time to work thoroughly through each zone without rushing.
Absolutely — Thai Oil Massage is one of the most accessible treatments we offer. You remain comfortably draped throughout, the strokes are gentle at first and deepen only as your muscles warm up, and Maliwan will check in on pressure at any point. Just let her know it's your first time.
If you have a blood clotting disorder, active skin infection across the treatment area, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy, please check with your GP before booking. For most other health conditions, please mention them at the time of booking and Maliwan will advise whether any adaptation is needed.
Yes — gift vouchers are available for all our treatments, including Thai Oil Massage. Contact us by phone on 07379 322305 or ask at reception and we'll arrange a voucher with a personal message if you'd like.

I had a Thai massage here recently and the experience was a mix of positives and challenges. The massage room was spacious, ambient, and very comfortable, especially the massage table. The masseuse was friendly, attentive, and clearly skilled. The massage itself was mostly relaxing, but at times the pressure was stronger than I could comfortably handle. I was reassured it was “good pain” due to the tightness in my shoulders and back, but I did end up with bruises on my arms and back and felt very sore for a couple of days, which affected my sleep. On the positive side, a few days later I noticed that I felt lighter and less tense, which shows the massage did release a lot of tightness. I would recommend this place for those who like deep, strong pressure massages, but if you prefer something gentler, I suggest making this clear to the masseuse at the start.
A beautiful experience — highly recommended I had the pleasure of booking a Thai massage in Glasgow today and it was a truly beautiful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease. The team was very friendly, incredibly professional, and delivered excellent work throughout my visit. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and I could tell that great care was taken in every detail. It’s clear that the ladies working here are passionate about what they do, and I’m so grateful for the hard work they put in. This is definitely a place I’d love to return to — and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you again!
Fantastic place. Staff are very knowledgeable, attentive and skilled. I had some tightness in my back and hip which they noticed right away and went a long way to easing. The staff were also careful around my knee and elbow which had some sporting injuries. The rooms are serene with light music and subdued lighting. The hot oil treatment is very soothing. I look forward to returning. Many thanks
